In a rare and unusual recording that was published by BeChadrei Charedim news site, Hagaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky is heard making an extremely strong statement against the leader of the Shuvu Banim group, Rabbi Eliezer Berland. The recording came about after a student of Rabbi Berland got into a verbal fight at a Kollel where he learned and sent a question to Hagaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky regarding the correctness of the words of the other student. Rabbi Kanievsky replied: The other student is correct. This Rabbi Berland is crazy.” Rav Kanievsky is known to weigh each word carefully as thousands listen to him and follow his opinions closely.

President Trump slammed CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta on Tuesday during a press conference in India, telling the reporter he should be “ashamed” and blasting the liberal network. “First of all, I want no help from any country, and I haven’t been given help from any country,” Trump answered before referencing a report that CNN had to walk back on Sunday. “If you see what CNN, your wonderful network said, I guess they apologized in a way. Didn’t they apologize for the fact that they said certain things that weren’t true? Tell me, what was their apology yesterday? What did they say?” Acosta fired back, “Mr. President, I think our record on delivering the truth is a lot better than yours sometimes.” Trump responded by attacking the credibility of Acosta and CNN.

Numerous car owners in Queens were furious to find that their tires were stolen off their vehicle overnight. This happened in the kew Gardens Hills section of the Boro, at 138th Street near 68th Avenue. The message this man has in the video, pretty much, says it all. (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

One of the four Israelis aboard the quarantined Diamond Princess cruise ship off of Japan who contracted the coronavirus has completely recovered and was released from the hospital in Tokyo on Tuesday. Rachel Biton was rigorously tested by the hospital over and over and was finally cleared for release. One of her relatives is still hospitalized in a Japanese hospital but will hopefully be released in the near future. Biton is reportedly returning to Israel on Wednesday but the details of how she is flying back to Israel are still unknown. A family spokesperson said that the family requests that the media give them time to organize their preparations for Biton’s return to Israel.

Michael Bloomberg’s presidential campaign offices across the country were defaced by vandals – which his office blames without evidence on Sen. Bernie Sanders’ “hateful rhetoric.” At least 7 offices round the country were spray-painted in large red letters with slurs including “racist,” “sexist,” “oligarch,” eat the rich, and “corporate pig”. In one location the windows were smashed. As @BernieSanders’ National Co-Chair, I unequivocally condemn the attacks on Bloomberg’s campaign offices. Our campaign fueled by grassroots donors is building the coalition needed to defeat Trump. Sanders is just speaking about facts in not letting money buy an election. pic.twitter.com/Zqof7SVeaL — Ro Khanna (@RoKhanna) February 25, 2020 (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)

It baffles the mind. Israel is actually holding another election. If the prospects for the upcoming campaigns would vary, even slightly, from the first two, perhaps there’d be some motivation to get involved. But for the third time in a year, “thrice the price”, with an added deficit of millions of desperately needed shekalim, we are back to square one. Nothing has changed. It’s the same politicians at each other’s throats, making incessant campaign promises that are either outright lies, total hypocrisy or simply delusional. It’s become a kid’s game. Little children bicker over who gets to be king, and adults, apparently mature enough to lead a country, squabble and banter about their rights to the throne.

Bernie Sanders has praised Fidel Castro’s ‘massive literacy program’, standing by comments he made praising the dictator’s rule of Cuba in the 1980s. The Democratic frontrunner and socialist, 78, defended the Communist regime as ‘not all bad’ during a wide-ranging 60 Minutes interview which aired Sunday. During the interview, he told Anderson Cooper: ‘We’re very opposed to the authoritarian nature of Cuba but you know, it’s unfair to simply say everything is bad. You know? ‘When Fidel Castro came into office, you know what he did? He had a massive literacy program. Is that a bad thing?

A video that circulated on social media on Motzei Shabbos showing South Koreans praying together with religious Jews at Me’aras Hamachpeila in Chevron caused alarm to Israelis who have been at the site this month. However, it was subsequently discovered that the South Koreans in the video were not part of the tour group that included members who were subsequently diagnosed with the coronavirus. The Koreans and the Jews were praying together for coronavirus victims. The authority which manages the Mea’aras Hamachpeila stated that members of the South Korean tour group that returned home and were diagnosed with the coronavirus were in the Jewish area of Me’aras Hamachpeila for 15 minutes and in the Muslim area for 30 minutes.
