It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rav Moshe Rubinstein zt”l, rosh kollel of Kollel Zichron Shneur of Monsey.
Kollel Zichron Shneur was founded over four decades ago by Rav Yaakov Kamenetzky and spearheaded and funded by askan Reb Yosef Hoffman as a center of Torah for the Monsey community. Rav Yaakov envisioned a kollel where diligent talmidei chachomim would learn with sincerity and devotion, until they are exemplary in Torah and mussar and ready to serve as the next generation of marbitzei Torah. Indeed, under the leadership of Rav Rubinstein for some 40 years, the kollel realized its lofty goals and spread Torah to the Monsey community and beyond.
Rav Rubinstein is survived by his wife, Mrs. Miriam Rubinstein, and their illustrious family, children who are renowned roshei yeshiva and marbitzei Torah, including their sons, Rav Aryeh Rubinstein, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Mishkan Hatorah in Lakewood; Rav Aharon Rubinstein, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Ohr HaTorah of Yerushalayim; and Rav Avrohom Rubinstein, rosh kollel of Kollel Zichron Shneur of Monsey.
The levayah will take place today, at 12 noon, at Kollel Zichron Shneur, located at 150 Remsen Avenue in Monsey.
The family will be sitting shivah at 1 Overhill Road in Monsey. Shacharis will be at 7 a.m., Mincha at 1:30 p.m., and Maariv at 9 p.m.
Yehi zichro boruch.
