Rav Aaron Schustal will deliver his first shiur klali today at Bais Medrash Govoah in Lakewood, NJ.
This shiur klali marks the third instance of the next generation of yeshiva leadership, specifically the sons or sons-in-law of the current roshei yeshiva, delivering such a shiur. The first two were when Rav Aharon Olshin delivered a shiur klali last zeman and when Rav Yehoshua Abba Busel delivered a shiur klali a couple of weeks ago.
The shiur klali is scheduled to take place at 12:45 p.m. at the yeshiva’s Bais Shalom Bais Medrash on the topic of Shofar Hagazul.
This shiur klali serves as a form of hachtarah for Rav Schustal, as he has assumed the title of “R”M” at the yeshiva.
Rav Schustal, formerly a rosh chaburah at Bais Medrash Govoah, is a son of Rav Dovid Schustal, rosh yeshiva of Bais Medrash Govoah, and a grandson of Rav Simcha Schustal zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Bais Binyomin of Stamford, and Rav Shneur Kotler zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Bais Medrash Govoah.
His wife, Mrs. Malki Schustal, is a daughter of Rav Aharon Dovid Dunner, rov of the Tottenham Adas Yisroel shul of London and dayan of the Union of Orthodox Hebrew Congregations.
Bais Medrash Govoah is famously led by four roshei yeshiva: Rav Aryeh Malkiel Kotler, Rav Yeruchem Olshin, Rav Dovid Schustal, and Rav Yisroel Neuman. Rav Kotler is a son of the rosh yeshiva Rav Shneur Kotler and a grandson of the yeshiva’s founder, Rav Aharon Kotler. Rav Schustal is a son-in-law of Rav Shneur Kotler. Rav Olshin and Rav Neuman are both sons-in-law of Rav Dov Schwartzman, who, in turn, was a son-in-law of Rav Aharon Kotler.
