It is with great sadness that Matzav.comreports the petirah of Rav Mordechai Moshe Perlman zt”l, R”M and Mashgiach of Yeshivas Ohr Somayach in Yerushalayim. He was 76.
Rav Perlman was born in the United States, a son of Rabbi Avraham Zev Mrs. Ruth Perlman.
In his youth, Rav Perlman learned at Yeshivas Mir Yerushalayim, where he immersed himself in limud haTorah and forged a deep connection with his rabbeim.
Fifty years ago, he was appointed as a rebbi and guide at Yeshivas Ohr Somayach in Yerushalayim. There, he devoted his life to teaching Torah and raising countless talmidim, nurturing them with the love of Torah and care as a father. He imparted to them not only the chochmah and teachings of his revered rabbeim, but also their values and hashkafos, guiding his talmidim to live their lives with integrity and purpose.
Rav Perlman was instrumental in shaping and influencing many lives, instilling ahavas haTorah and a commitment to Klal Yisroel.
Known for his incredible humility and yiras Shomayim, Rav Perlman’s nature was to see the good in everyone and to treat all with kindness and respect. His humility and sincerity were a source of inspiration to all who met him.
He endured difficult suffering in his final years, accepting it with emunah and bitachon.
He is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
The levaya was held today at the Shamgar Funeral Home in Yerushalayim, followed by kevurah on Har HaMenuchos.
The family is sitting shivah at 39 Netivot HaMishpat in Modiin Illit.
Yehi zichro boruch.
