This evening, a stabbing attack in Tel Aviv left at least four people injured. A passerby, armed with a firearm, responded by shooting and killing the attacker. Authorities discovered an American passport on the assailant, indicating that he had entered Israel as a tourist just three days earlier.
Magen David Adom (MDA) reported that the incident involved stabbings at two locations, Nachalat Binyamin Street and Kalisher Street in Tel Aviv, with a total of up to eight people harmed. Emergency medical teams are attending to four of the injured, including two 24-year-olds who are in moderate and light condition. The terrorist has been neutralized.
An eyewitness who was nearby when the shooting occurred recounted the events to Channel 12 News: “We heard a burst of gunfire, we saw people running, and then we ran into the bathroom. We went out for a moment to make sure it wasn’t a motorcycle noise, we heard another bang – and we ran to the nearby shelter. In the meantime, we heard a lot of vehicles.”
The police have urged the public to stay away from the scene of the attack to allow for thorough searches and to confirm that there were no additional suspects or another assailant in the vicinity.
