Letting radical Islam “regain its footing in places like Afghanistan” over the past few years “inevitably leads to inspired attacks against our homeland and that of our allies,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) stated in response to the car ramming attack in New Orleans that killed 15 people.
“To protect America, we have to keep radical Islam beaten down throughout the world,” the senator stated. “If not, we will pay a heavy price at home.”
The FBI stated that the attacker had an ISIS flag on the rented truck that he drove into a crowd of people in the popular New Orleans tourist site in the early morning hours on Jan. 1.
“All Americans are heartbroken this New Year’s Day, because innocent people enjoying their lives were killed or injured in a senseless, cowardly act of terrorism,” Graham stated. “May God grant healing to the wounded and comfort to the families of the fallen.” JNS
