Israeli and global figures responded to US President Donald Trump’s stern warning to Hamas, which he posted on Truth Social and X/Twitter late Wednesday evening.
After meeting with six Israeli hostages recently freed from Gaza at the White House, President Trump issued a strong warning to the terror organization.
“This is your last warning! For the leadership, now is the time to leave Gaza, while you still have a chance,” Trump declared in his post.
In the wake of the message, multiple leaders expressed their approval of Trump’s firm stance on confronting Hamas.
Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich took to X to express his gratitude: “Thank you, Mr. President, for your commitment to Israel’s security and the security of the entire free world and for your concern for the return of all our hostages to their homes.”
Israel’s former national security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir weighed in, emphasizing the importance of action: “The government must embrace President Trump’s proposal and stop bypassing him from the left. Release all our hostages immediately, or absolute hell immediately.”
MK Simcha Rothman, who chairs the Knesset Constitution Committee, kept his message brief but sincere: “This is the only way to bring them all home. Thank you, Mr. President.”
Senator Lindsey Graham, a Republican from the United States, tweeted his full support: “President Donald Trump, you have my complete and total support.”
He further explained his position: “This is why I believe President Trump is the right man at the right time to deal with the bad guys and bring peace to the world.”
Graham also criticized the Biden Administration’s response: “This ultimatum should have been delivered to Hamas early on by the Biden Administration. Mr. President: You are right to say it, and it’s imperative you do it if Hamas refuses.”
Jason Greenblatt, who previously served as US Middle East envoy, noted: “President Trump’s methods may be different for some, but his methods get real results, especially in the tough world we live in!”
David Friedman, former US Ambassador to Israel under Trump, expressed his admiration: “I love this guy. The right message by the right person at the right time!”
Pro-Israel political group AIPAC also showed its appreciation for Trump’s actions, stating in a post on X/Twitter: “Thank you, Mr. President, for your unequivocal demand that Hamas free all the hostages now and for ensuring Israel has the resources it needs to protect its families.”
