Argentinian President Javier Milei, who is currently visiting Washington, D.C., took the opportunity to engage in a brief conversation with Rabbi Levi Shemtov, the Executive Vice President of American Friends of Lubavitch.
Prior to his departure, Rabbi Shemtov gifted the president a small replica of the Congressional Gold Medal, which was bestowed upon the Lubavitcher Rebbe. During their meeting, Rabbi Shemtov also conveyed the Rebbe’s perspective on charitable efforts and the importance of fostering social well-being.
President Milei expressed his gratitude for the thoughtful gift and acknowledged the significance of the Rebbe’s blessings, which he holds in high regard. He further shared that he feels a deep connection to the Rebbe and has often prayed at the Ohel.
Accompanying them during the meeting were Argentina’s Foreign Minister, Gerardo Werthein, and the Honorable Ilan Goldfajn, President of the Inter-American Development Bank.
