In a significant breakthrough, the RNSP Shomrim, in collaboration with the NYPD and NCPD, has announced the arrest of a notorious career criminal responsible for a string of burglaries across New York City and the 5 Towns.
This criminal, who targeted Jewish communities in the 5 Towns, Far Rockaway, and Brooklyn, primarily struck on Friday nights while families were asleep, leaving many residents on edge.
After months of intense and challenging efforts, including a complex investigation and multiple covert operations, the criminal is now in police custody.
This individual had been responsible for hundreds of home burglaries, causing significant distress and financial loss to many families. Thousands of dollars in cash and jewelry were stolen, with some victims losing their life savings. The repeated intrusions disrupted the peace of mind for many, with families and children struggling to sleep soundly since these incidents began.
Law enforcement officials are working diligently with the NYPD, NCPD, and the DA’s office to ensure this career criminal remains off the streets for a long time.
Special thanks have been extended to the detectives of the NYPD’s 101st Precinct, NCPD’s 4th Precinct, and other precincts throughout New York City. The dedication of the 101 Precinct Special Operations Lt. Ryan Oshea, the 101 Public Safety team, 101 NCO teams, the NYPD’s Warrant Squad, and the Queens District Attorney’s office has been invaluable. The involvement of Shomrim members and the support of their families were crucial in bringing this case to a successful conclusion.
The announcement of this arrest brings a sense of closure to many families affected by the burglaries over the past six months. Authorities have assured that any recovered stolen items will be returned to their rightful owners as soon as possible.
