Naftali Bennett issued a forceful denunciation of Hamas, accusing the group of deliberately embedding itself within civilian infrastructure and relying on innocent people to shield its fighters.
Sharing his perspective on social media, Bennett stated plainly, “Hamas’ use of human shields is not just a tactic. It’s the very basis of Hamas’ existence.”
He expanded on that point by describing how widespread the group’s entrenchment is in civilian areas. “Almost every home, school and hospital in Gaza is part of Hamas’ terror apparatus. HAMAS TURNED GAZA INTO ONE HUGE TERROR MACHINE,” he wrote.
Bennett also addressed the difficult position of the Israel Defense Forces, who are engaged in operations against Hamas while trying to avoid harm to bystanders. “While the IDF bends over backwards to minimise deaths of non-participants, there is no magic formula to defeat this terror machine without casualties. The responsibility is of Hamas that engineered this,” he explained.
He concluded his remarks with a stark warning about the international consequences if Hamas’s tactics prove effective. “Here’s the harsh truth: If Israel is forced to stop, EVERY TERROR ORGANISATION ON EARTH WILL USE HUMAN SHIELDS, because it brings them victory. This is the moment to support Israel in our thankless but vital task of fighting the worst terror groups on earth.”
