Tonight, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu addressed reports that US President Joe Biden had expressed significant frustration with Netanyahu’s handling of the ceasefire and prisoner exchange negotiations.
“Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu does not discuss what was said in closed conversations with the President of the US,” the statement read. “He does not interfere in American politics and will work with whoever is elected president, just as he expects the Americans not to interfere in Israeli politics.”
Keshet News reported that the conversation between the two leaders became intense, with Biden reportedly telling Netanyahu, “Stop [expletive] me!” When Netanyahu responded, “We are progressing with the negotiations” and assured that “a delegation will leave very soon,” Biden’s irritation was evident.
At the end of the call, Biden cautioned Netanyahu, “Don’t take the US President for granted.”
