On Monday morning, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit announced that Sergeant Omer Ginzburg, a 19-year-old soldier from Kiryat Tiv’on serving in the Paratroopers Brigade’s 101st Battalion, was killed in action on Sunday during an operation in the southern Gaza Strip.
The current death toll of IDF soldiers since the beginning of the conflict stands at 690.
Earlier on Sunday, IDF forces detected a group of terrorists emerging from a tunnel in the Rafah area. The Israel Air Force (IAF) responded promptly, neutralizing the threat.
In a separate event, another terrorist group was spotted entering a military installation near IDF troops. In coordination with the IAF, the IDF successfully targeted and eliminated the terrorists.
Additionally, IDF forces conducted a strike on a location from which rockets had been fired towards Kibbutz Kissufim on Saturday. They also targeted a Hamas military installation associated with the organization’s rocket unit.
Earlier that same day, the IDF distributed leaflets in Rafah, advising the remaining residents of the city’s Aljalaa neighborhood to temporarily relocate to the designated Humanitarian Area.
These evacuation notices were sent through a variety of communication channels, including SMS, recorded voice messages, phone calls, media broadcasts in Arabic, and printed flyers.
“The IDF will persist in its operations against the Hamas terrorist organization, which exploits Gazan civilians as human shields for its terrorist activities and infrastructure,” the IDF declared.
