Two separate terrorist incidents unfolded within the span of an hour on Wednesday evening in Judea and Samaria.
The first attack took place near the Reihan Checkpoint, west of Jenin in northern Samaria, where terrorists opened fire from a moving vehicle, targeting individuals in the area. Initial reports indicated that at least two people were injured in the shooting.
Medical personnel quickly arrived at the scene to administer emergency care. Both of the injured were taken to the hospital in moderate condition. Later updates indicated that their condition had deteriorated and they were now listed as being in serious condition.
Security forces responded to the incident with a large deployment and immediately began searching the surrounding area in pursuit of the suspects involved in the shooting.
Shortly after this, another attempted terror attack occurred in the southern Hebron Hills, where a terrorist drove his vehicle into a group of soldiers. One person was reportedly wounded in the ramming attack. The terrorist was subsequently neutralized.
Eyewitness reports say the attacker, after crashing the car, exited the vehicle wielding a knife and stabbed a victim. He was then shot by nearby security personnel.
The IDF issued a statement: “Following the initial report regarding a shooting in the area of the Reihan Crossing, a terrorist fired at IDF soldiers conducting operational activity in the area. IDF soldiers began a pursuit after the terrorist.”
They added: “In an additional incident, a terrorist arrived in a vehicle in Har Hevron and attempted to ram IDF soldiers who were in the area. The terrorist then exited his vehicle, attempted to stab a soldier, and was neutralized.”
Shomron Regional Council Chairman Yossi Dagan held a phone call with Brigadier General Yaki Dolf, the head of the IDF’s Judea and Samaria Division, who provided a briefing on the attack.
Afterward, Dagan declared: “The entire people of Israel and the settlements in Samaria strengthens the IDF soldiers and pray for their success – we give you full support and full trust. We expect and demand from the government to completely turn the tables. I expect and demand from the Israeli government to order the IDF to level the Jenin refugee camp – Jenin is the terror capital of Northern Samaria, just like Khan Yunis and Rafah.”
He further urged the government to issue a firm response: “I demand that the Israeli government to provide a clear civilian settlement response to the attack, and to announce the construction of a new settlement in northern Samaria – they are coming to expel us from our land, and we need to crush the terror infrastructure with an iron fist and resolutely strengthen the settlement, and convey a clear message. We are here to win. We do not have the privilege of losing this war, which is a zero-sum war, not only for the State of Israel but for the survival of the world as a modern and enlightened world in 2025 against the barbarians. The Israeli government must show that we are here to win.”
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, a separate attempted attack was thwarted at the Gitti Avishar intersection in the Samaria region. IDF troops neutralized a female terrorist who had been throwing rocks at soldiers stationed there. A knife was found on her person, indicating a likely plan for a stabbing. Thankfully, no injuries were reported in that incident.
