On Monday, Israel responded to the High Court, regarding a petition about the conditions terrorists jailed at the Sde Teiman base are living in.
According to these newly released details, there are 28 of the highest level danger prisoners at the Sde Teiman base. It is costing the country 44 million NIS to adapt the base to jail the prisoners.
Following the controversy that occurred after Israel released some terrorists back to Gaza due to a lack of prison space, the state said: “arrangements have been made in the facility for the terrorists to sleep on mattresses on the ground, while they were also given blankets, depending on the weather conditions.”
New details released about the conditions the terrorists are jailed in include that the terrorists get 7 hours of sleep a night, three meals every day, and will now be allowed to go on walks in the courtyard. The terrorists have access to drinking water all day. At no point have they been deprived of food.
This information comes to light after multiple IDF reservists were arrested for allegedly severely abusing a terrorist. The arrests and the following protests created a huge controversy in Israel.
