The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has unveiled its official website as part of its effort to be “maximally transparent,” providing real-time updates on its latest discoveries regarding governmental inefficiencies.
Shortly after Gizmodo, a left-leaning tech outlet, criticized the website on Wednesday, claiming that the “billionaire Tesla CEO is a fountain of lies” due to the landing page being empty — despite the frequent updates on DOGE’s X account — the website was officially launched, featuring a detailed breakdown of federal employees and regulations.
The homepage directs visitors to a live feed of the X account’s detailed posts on cost-saving initiatives, while the “Unconstitutionality Index” page reveals that in 2024, each new law passed by Congress resulted in 18.5 new agency rules created by “unelected bureaucrats.”
It also provided a breakdown of federal regulations by agency, with the Department of Agriculture leading the pack with over 21,000 regulatory sections, followed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which has more than 20,200.
A dedicated page for the “savings” discovered by DOGE indicates that detailed “receipts” will be available by Valentine’s Day, which falls on Friday.
“In fact, our actions… we post our actions to the DOGE Handle on X and to the Doge website,” DOGE’s head, Elon Musk, remarked during a press briefing from the Oval Office on Tuesday. “So all of our actions are maximally transparent. In fact, I don’t think there’s been, I don’t know of a case where an organization has been more transparent than the DOGE organization.”
The newly launched website also features a recruitment section, inviting software engineers and tech professionals to apply to join DOGE, emphasizing the need for “world-class talent to work long hours identifying/eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse.”
