AirHelp, a global leader in air passenger rights, released its 2024 rankings for airlines. Brussels Airlines took the top spot this year, surpassing Qatar Airways, which had previously held the top rank but dropped to second place. Meanwhile, El Al, Israel’s flagship airline, found itself near the bottom of the list.
The ranking gives passengers a comprehensive overview of what they can expect in terms of service, using data-driven insights. AirHelp has a vast database of flight information, and this year’s analysis covered 109 of the world’s leading airlines. The rankings were based on factors such as punctuality, customer reviews, and claims handling, using data collected from January 1 to October 31, 2024. For the first time, 36 airlines were included in the ranking, compared to the previous year.
Brussels Airlines earned the top spot with an overall score of 8.12, and it received an exceptional rating of 8.7 for its claims handling. Qatar Airways, ranked second with a score of 8.11, stood out for its high customer review rating of 8.9. American airlines claimed the third and fourth positions: United Airlines and American Airlines, both with a score of 8.04.
Tunisair repeated its position as the lowest-ranked airline, scoring an overall 3.63. Tunisia’s national carrier performed poorly in claims handling, with an extremely low score of just 0.2. Buzz, a Polish carrier, came in just above with an overall score of 4.45, including an even worse claims handling score of 0.1.
