President Trump announced on Monday that he is set to release 80,000 documents related to the Kennedy assassination on Tuesday, a collection that is likely to attract significant attention from both historians and conspiracy enthusiasts.
Trump made the statement during a visit to the Kennedy Center for the performing arts in Washington, D.C.
At this point, it remains unclear whether Trump was referring to files related to the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy or the 1968 killing of his brother, then-Senator Robert F. Kennedy (D-NY). Additionally, Trump has also directed the release of documents regarding the 1968 assassination of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.
Although these files have been sealed for many years, an early review by government officials revealed no major revelations.
