In the initial stage of the agreement between Israel and Hamas regarding hostages, 274 individuals convicted of acts of terrorism and sentenced to life in prison were freed. However, approximately 300 others who were also given life sentences remain incarcerated, according to Arab sources who spoke with Kan News.
Currently, Israeli authorities are holding a total of 9,406 individuals classified as terrorists or security detainees. Among them, 1,486 have already been convicted and are serving their sentences, while 2,960 are in the midst of legal proceedings but have yet to receive a verdict. Another 3,405 are being held under administrative detention.
The Israel Prison Service has provided statistics indicating that during the war in Gaza, 1,555 terrorists from the region were taken into custody.
Additionally, around 1,800 individuals from Gaza who were apprehended during the conflict are currently being held in IDF detention facilities.
