Hezbollah’s deputy terror leader, Naim Qassem, issued a warning this evening, suggesting that the ceasefire between the group and Israel could be jeopardized. He remarked, “Our patience may run out before the end of the 60-day ceasefire agreement.” Qassem explained, “Our patience is related to our decision on the suitable timing to respond to the breaches.” He emphasized that “Hezbollah’s leadership will decide when to be patient and when to react.” According to him, the ceasefire requires Israel to pull back south of the Litani River, and he stated that it is the responsibility of the Lebanese government to enforce this agreement with Israel.
Qassem also highlighted the limited progress Israel made during the conflict, stating, “Israel tried for 64 days to advance within our lands, but only progressed a few hundred meters.” He continued, “Israel failed to advance deep into our lands thanks to the strength of the resistance. The resistance is strong, deterrent, and effective, disrupting the enemy’s objectives despite the extensive Israeli destruction and aggression.”
Israel is reportedly planning to inform the United States that it will not fulfill its commitment to withdraw from Lebanon at the conclusion of the 60-day ceasefire period, as outlined in the agreement. This decision is based on the Lebanese army’s inability to meet the terms of the ceasefire, coupled with Hezbollah’s ongoing efforts to regroup and strengthen its position in the area.
