The Israeli Air Force carried out a strike today against a terrorist group operating in the Beit Lahia area, which included a member involved in the October 7th attack on Israel, according to the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit. The targeted terrorists were using a drone to launch attacks against IDF forces in the Gaza Strip.
The IDF confirmed that, based on intelligence gathered, it was determined that the drone had been consistently utilized by the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization, including during the recent operations. “Based on intelligence regarding the terrorist activity in the area, it can be determined that the drone was consistently used by the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization, as well as during its activities today,” the IDF stated.
Several terrorists were killed in the airstrike, including those who had operated under the guise of journalists. Among those eliminated were: Mostafa Mohammed Shaaban Hamad, a Hamas operative who infiltrated Israel during the October 7th attack; Mahmoud Yahya Rashdi Al-Sarraj, a member of Hamas’ engineering division; Bilal Mahmoud Fouad Abu Matar, a Hamas terrorist posing as a photographer; Mahmoud Imad Hassan Aslim, a member of Hamas’ Zeitoun Battalion who also worked under journalistic cover; Suhaib Bassem Khaled Nagar, an Islamic Jihad operative who had been released as part of the most recent hostage deal; and Mohammed Alaa Sobhi Al-Jafeer, another Hamas member.
