The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit reported that in recent hours, Israeli forces initiated ground operations in the “Shabura” area of Rafah.
During this operation, soldiers dismantled multiple terrorist infrastructures. Meanwhile, IDF troops continue their ground maneuvers in both northern and central Gaza.
The military further revealed that in recent months, Hamas operatives had converted a facility in northern Gaza—formerly known as the “Turkish” hospital—into a command and control center, using it to orchestrate and execute attacks against Israeli forces and civilians.
In response, IDF forces launched operations to neutralize the terrorist infrastructure at the site. Additionally, Israeli Air Force (IAF) jets carried out strikes targeting terrorist operatives and infrastructure across the Gaza Strip over the past several hours.
“The IDF and ISA will continue operations against terrorist groups in Gaza to safeguard Israeli citizens,” the military stated.
Yesterday, IDF forces expanded their ground activities into central and southern Gaza with the objective of strengthening security measures and establishing a partial buffer zone between the northern and southern regions of the Strip. As part of these operations, the troops advanced further into the Netzarim Corridor, increasing their control over the area.
An IDF spokesperson confirmed that Israel has commenced a strategic ground maneuver in central and southern Gaza, aimed at broadening the security zone and enforcing a separation between the northern and southern regions.
Meanwhile, IDF Arabic spokesman Avichay Adraee issued a warning: “IDF forces have begun a limited ground operation in central Gaza. Movement from northern to southern Gaza through Salah al-Din Road is strictly prohibited. Travel is only permitted via the coastal road.”
