The IDF announced on Sunday evening the tragic loss of Captain Yogev Pazy, 22, from Giv’ot Bar, and Staff Sergeant Noam Eitan, 21, from Chadeira, during military operations in northern Gaza.
Captain Pazy served as a platoon commander in the Nachshon Battalion (90) of the Kfir Brigade, while Staff Sergeant Eitan was a soldier under his command in the same battalion.
Captain Pazy was related to former IDF Chief of Staff MK Gadi Eisenkot (National Unity), being the son of Eisenkot’s wife’s sister. This devastating news adds to the losses Eisenkot has already endured, having lost both a son and another nephew earlier in the war during ground operations in Gaza.
Staff Sergeant Noam Eitan, a student at the Akko Hesder Yeshiva, was also known for his musical talent. He composed and performed original songs, releasing several tracks. Just four months ago, he shared his song “Tahanat Maavar” (Transfer Stop).
Since the start of the conflict, 798 IDF soldiers have fallen.
The incident that claimed the lives of Captain Pazy and Staff Sergeant Eitan also left another soldier from the Nachshon Battalion critically wounded.
Earlier the same day, the IDF reported the death of Sergeant First Class (res.) Idan Kenan, 21, from Ramat Gan. He served in the 90th Battalion of the Kfir Brigade and was killed in combat in northern Gaza.
