The Israeli Air Force conducted a series of airstrikes over the past 24 hours, hitting approximately 40 terror-related locations across the Gaza Strip, according to a statement issued by the military on Friday.
These strikes targeted militants, weapons depots, and military compounds, the IDF stated. Simultaneously, ground forces engaged in operations in the Shabura and Tel Sultan neighborhoods of Rafah, located in Gaza’s south, where they eliminated terrorists and destroyed key terror infrastructure.
In the northern sector of Gaza, troops coordinated with the air force to identify and strike terrorists from the air. Forces operating in that area also uncovered and destroyed hidden stockpiles of weapons.
A day earlier, on Thursday, the IDF reported that its forces had been active in the southern corridor known as “Morag,” where they dismantled launch sites used for rockets, terror hideouts, underground tunnel entrances, and mortar systems.
Later on Friday, military officials revealed that the 16th Brigade, which functions under the 252nd Division, had dismantled a Hamas terror network operating in Shejaiya.
Since the beginning of operations in Shejaiya, Israeli forces have reportedly neutralized several dozen terrorists. Among those eliminated was a group plotting a sniper assault on IDF personnel.
Earlier in the week, the military confirmed the death of Yahya Fathi Abd al-Qader Abu Shaar, who headed Hamas’s weapons smuggling operations.
Additionally, the IDF announced last week that Mazen Ibrahim Mahfouz Farra, a senior operative in the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, was killed in a strike on Khan Yunis.
