Iran is poised to launch ballistic missiles toward Israel “immediately” in response to the IDF’s ground operation in Lebanon, according to a U.S. official.
Tehran, after warning of retaliation for Israel’s actions against Hezbollah, is now reportedly preparing to directly target Israel, a senior White House official shared with ABC News.
The official explained, “we are actively supporting defensive preparations to defend Israel against this attack. A direct military attack from Iran against Israel will carry severe consequences for Iran.”
IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari confirmed that the U.S. has informed Israel of Iran’s intentions to launch missiles. “A short while ago, our American allies updated us that they identify preparations by Iran for imminent missile fire at the State of Israel,” Hagari said.
So far, no missiles or aerial threats have been launched from Iran, Hagari added.
“We’ve handled this type of threat before, and we will handle it again,” he stated, urging the public to continue following Home Front Command instructions.
The IDF is fully prepared with both defensive and offensive measures, Hagari emphasized.
Any missile fire from Iran, he warned, “will have consequences.”
