Iran has released a photo of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei following numerous unsourced rumors on social media suggesting he was either unconscious or deceased.
The picture depicts Khamenei seated in his office, speaking with Iran’s Ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani. Amani was injured during Israel’s attacks on Hezbollah targets in Beirut in September.
Recent social media reports speculated that Khamenei had fallen into a coma, while others suggested he had passed away. Some rumors also alleged that in a private meeting, he had named his son as his successor.
