Qatari news network Al Jazeera reported on Sunday morning that Israeli forces entered its office in Ramallah, located in the West Bank, and issued an order to shut down operations for 45 days.
The Qatar-based broadcaster showed live footage of Israeli soldiers entering the premises, handing a military closure order to an Al Jazeera staff member, and then cutting off the broadcast signal shortly after.
In response, the Palestinian Journalists’ Syndicate released a statement strongly criticizing the action, stating, “this arbitrary military decision is considered a new violation against journalistic and media works, which has been exposing the occupation’s crimes against the Palestinian people.”
