Two people have been found dead inside the landing gear of a JetBlue plane that touched down in Florida after leaving New York City on Monday night. The pair were found inside the compartment at the front of the Airbus A320 after a routine maintenance check at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. The flight left from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and landed in Florida just after 11 p.m., operating as Flight 1801.
The New York Post cited officials who said the identities of the duo are being withheld, as the airline investigates how they gained access to the aircraft.
“At this time, the identities of the individuals and the circumstances surrounding how they accessed the aircraft remain under investigation,” JetBlue said. “This is a heartbreaking situation, and we are committed to working closely with authorities to support their efforts to understand how this occurred.” Read more.
