Early Thursday morning, sirens were heard once again across central Israel, the Shfela region, and in Yerushalayim and its neighboring areas, signaling the launch of a missile from Yemen.
According to the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit, the missile fired from Yemen was intercepted by the Israeli Air Force before it could enter Israeli airspace. The sirens were activated as part of the established safety protocol.
Magen David Adom confirmed that, at this point, there have been no reports of damage or injuries. However, MDA teams provided medical assistance to around 13 individuals who were injured while rushing to shelters, along with three others who experienced anxiety attacks.
During the sirens, Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu was promptly moved from the Knesset plenum, where a discussion about the Arrangements Law was ongoing, to a safer location in the Knesset shelter.
The Houthi rebels took responsibility for the missile attack aimed at Israel, claiming they targeted Ben Gurion Airport. Yahya Saree, a spokesperson for the Houthis, stated that the missile strike was a retaliation for “massacres against our brothers in the Gaza Strip.”
In a post on the social media platform X, Nasruddin Amer, a senior Houthi official, shared a message following the missile launch. He wrote, “Residents of Gaza, you are not alone; Allah is with you, and we are with you. Victory comes only from Allah,” and included a screenshot showing a map of the areas where sirens were heard throughout the country.
Earlier on Tuesday night, sirens were triggered in several southern Israeli locations following the launch of a projectile from Yemen. The sirens were activated in places such as Be’er Sheva, Dimona, Yeruham, Nevatim, Segev Shalom, Tel Sheva, and other surrounding communities.
The IDF later issued a statement saying, “Following the sirens that sounded a short while ago in central and southern Negev, a missile launched from Yemen was intercepted by the IAF prior to crossing into Israeli territory. Sirens were sounded in accordance with protocol.”
