Moshe “Musa” Horn, 85, has been confirmed as the victim of a deadly shooting at Hatishbi Junction on Monday morning.
He leaves behind his wife, Betty, as well as their children Iris, Rotem, Ofir, and Alon, along with 10 grandchildren.
Kibbutz Hazore’a expressed its sorrow, sharing in a statement, “He was always one of the pillars of Kibbutz Hazore’a.”
The incident occurred at a bus stop when a terrorist attempted to run over pedestrians before exiting his car, armed with a rifle, and shooting at nearby civilians.
According to initial reports, the terrorist was driving along the road near Hatishbi Junction when he spotted a young man, likely around 20 years old, standing at the bus stop. The terrorist rammed into him with his car, then got out and stabbed him with a knife, causing serious injuries from the attack.
Israel Police Commissioner Danny Levi provided further details, stating that the terrorist, who was an Arab Israeli, seized a rifle from an injured soldier and fired it at a vehicle traveling on the opposite side of the road. While the driver was unharmed, his elderly father, who was riding with him, was shot dead at the scene. Security footage of the event shows the terrorist running with the rifle before being neutralized.
