It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Mrs. Miriam Schechter a”h, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and devoted mechaneches, who passed away at the age of 69.
Mrs. Schechter tragically collapsed at her workplace, Positive Beginnings daycare in Lakewood, a few weeks ago.
For many years, she served as a popular morah at Bais Yaakov D’Rav Meir in Brooklyn, where she touched the lives of countless talmidos with her warmth.
Her devotion to her work and her ability to nurture both the hearts and minds of the young girls she taught was a hallmark of her character.
After relocating to Lakewood, Mrs. Schechter continued her life of chesed and devotion, contributing her time and love to others, always thinking of others before herself. Her character was defined by her remarkable humility, genuine kindness, and unwavering commitment to all.
Mrs. Schechter was the epitome of selflessness, always giving of herself in every way. Her presence brought comfort and joy to all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Rabbi Aryeh Schechter, and their children:Mrs. Chavie Katz, R’ Dovi Schechter, R’ Shaya Schechter, Mrs. Hindy Goldberger, R’ Yisroel Meir Schechter, R’ Yaakov Schechter, Mrs. Rochel Hersko, R’ Menachem Schechter, Mrs. Penina Gelbwachs, and Mrs. Tzippy Stroh. She is also survived by her brothers, Reb Yitzchok Biegeleisen and Reb Gershon Biegeleisen, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The levayah will take place tonight at midnight at the Congregation Sons of Israel Holocaust Memorial Chapel, located at 613 Ramsey Avenue in Lakewood, NJ, followed by kevurah at the adjacent Mt. Sinai Cemetery.
