Nefesh B’Nefesh is preparing to help 2,000 new Olim from America and Canada settle in Israel this summer. There are 14 group flights scheduled through September, with 60 new Olim already arriving at Ben Gurion airport this past Tuesday.
Since October 7th, almost 1,800 Olim from North America have arrived in Israel. Nefesh B’Nefesh is reporting a major increase in interest in making Aliyah from North America, with 10,300 requests to open Aliyah files since October 7th – a 76% increase compared to the same time span the previous year.
On the group Aliyah flight which flew from New York to Israel this past Tuesday, there were 60 Olim passengers from 10 different states and provinces across the US and Canada. The youngest new Oleh was a 2 month old infant, and the oldest was a 79 year old senior. The new Olim are planning to settle in multiple cities and towns across Israel, including Yerushalayim, Ra’anana, Modi’in, Ramat Beit Shemesh, Kfar Tavor and others.
New Olim will receive a range of Government benefits, including rental assistance in national priority areas, community support, large discounts on purchase taxes, and enhanced Hebrew language studies.
