Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu told the Wall Street Journal that he would not agree to a deal with Hamas that would result in ending the war. In an interview released yesterday, Netanyahu stated, “I’m not going to agree to end the war before we remove Hamas,” and emphasized, “We’re not going to leave them in power in Gaza, 50 miles from Tel Aviv. It’s not going to happen.”
Regarding the operation in Rafah, Netanyahu defended the action, asserting that any threats from the U.S. about imposing an arms embargo would “fix themselves,” but insisted that Israel could not afford to lose its legitimacy by failing to carry out the invasion.
Netanyahu also shared his perspective on the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, explaining that Nasrallah had started to take control of Hezbollah’s military activities, “replacing Qasem Soleimani.” He noted that Iran was not only using Nasrallah, but also that Nasrallah was utilizing Iran for his own purposes.
