Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu has taken legal action against former minister Moshe Ya’alon, filing a lawsuit in response to Ya’alon’s assertion that he accepted financial support from Qatar.
In a video message he shared, Netanyahu addressed the controversy, stating, “Nothing will stop me from continuing to make the right decisions for the security of our country. Not the fake campaign, the fake scandals that are constantly on the news. The people yawn because they know that everything is fake and the number of cases being filed is not keeping up with the number of cases being opened.”
Continuing his remarks, he declared, “I have decided not to remain silent any longer. Today I sued ‘Bogie’ Ya’alon for the despicable lie he spread as if I received something from Qatar. I will tell you: I received nothing from Qatar, but I will receive from Bogie, and this is just the beginning.”
Netanyahu wrapped up his statement with a firm rejection of the accusations, asserting, “Nothing will deter me, not even this campaign of blackmail with threats against me and my family, it will not stop me.”
Ya’alon, in response, took to X to issue his own statement, writing, “I hear that the Hamas financier intends to sue me. On the contrary! Maybe this will be an opportunity to hear his explanation for the suitcases of cash from Qatar to Hamas? Maybe this will be an opportunity to hear his response to the financing of three of his close aides by Qatar?”
He continued his criticism by referencing law enforcement pressures, stating, “Someone under pressure from the Shin Bet investigation, which was subject to a publication ban. The attempt to fire the Shin Bet chief and the attorney general also stems from this pressure. If the father of the concept of ‘Hamas is an asset’ and ‘Hamas needs to be strengthened’ had invested his time in freeing the hostages and ending the war, and not in clinging to power – our situation would be much better. The messianic, evading, and corrupt government must be replaced as soon as possible, in order to save the country. The sooner the better, even by just one hour.”
