Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu is scheduled to undergo a surgical procedure on Sunday to remove his prostate gland.
In a statement released Saturday night, the Prime Minister’s Office explained, “Last Wednesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu underwent an examination at Hadassah Hospital, during which a urinary tract infection was identified. The infection was caused by a benign enlargement of his prostate.”
The statement continued, “Over the past several days, the Prime Minister has been treated with antibiotics, which have effectively addressed the infection. As a result, Prime Minister Netanyahu will undergo treatment tomorrow to remove his prostate.”
Officials emphasized that the procedure would not interfere with Netanyahu’s responsibilities, stating, “Tomorrow’s government meeting will be held as planned.”
Earlier this year, in April, Netanyahu successfully underwent hernia surgery at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.
