Yisroel Hayom has reported that the Palestinian Authority is contemplating a shift in its policy of providing financial support to terrorists, a move that has never been considered before.
This potential change came to light during the PA’s response, through its legal counsel, in an ongoing lawsuit for compensation filed by the families of terror victims in the Yerushalayim District Court.
As stated in the report, the lawyer representing the Palestinian Authority acknowledged in a hearing this week that the new legislation, passed last June to compensate terror victims, marks a significant shift. This new law has prompted the Authority to reconsider its practice of disbursing funds to terrorists. The law stipulates, among other things, that money originally designated for terrorists will be frozen and redirected to the victims of terrorism instead.
