Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport announced the highest level of emergency alertness on Monday, dispatching over a hundred ambulances to the tarmac ahead of the emergency landing of a plane carrying 152 passengers.
The Israeli Air Force deployed jets to escorted the Electra Air 737 flight whose tire exploded upon takeoff in Cologne earlier in the afternoon.
The plane landed safely at Ben Gurion over an hour after the emergency was declared.
