The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office has confirmed that Hamas will be returning the remains of four hostages to Israel on Wednesday night.
“Pursuant to Israel’s demands, agreement has been reached with the mediators: Four of our deceased hostages will be returned tonight in the framework of the first stage, in an agreed-upon procedure and without Hamas ceremonies,” the Prime Minister’s Office announced.
Hamas publicly disclosed the identities of the deceased hostages it intends to hand over: Ohad Yahalomi, Tsahi Idan, Itzik Elgarat, and Shlomo Mantzur.
The bodies will be handed over to the Red Cross by Hamas, after which Israel will proceed with the gradual release of terrorists. However, this process will only move forward once the hostages’ identities have been conclusively verified.
Israeli authorities emphasized that the release of the largest group of terrorists will not take place until the remains have been fully authenticated.
Meanwhile, Hamas has stated that the European Hospital in Khan Yunis is preparing for the arrival of a large number of prisoners whose release was postponed last week. The prisoners are expected to enter Gaza between 10:00 p.m. and midnight.
