It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Rabbi Dov Oustatcher z”l, R’ Dov Noach ben R’ Boruch Ha’Kohein z”l, longtime member of the Executive Staff of Torah Umesorah.
Rabbi Oustatcher was born and raised in the Bronx, and he ultimately became a talmid at Yeshivas Rabbeinu Chaim Berlin. It was there that he formed a close bond with the Rosh Yeshiva, Rav Yitzchok Hutner, who took a special interest in him and provided him with hadracha that would last a lifetime. This relationship helped shape Rabbi Oustatcher’s character and his commitment to Torah.
A man of great intellectual prowess, Rabbi Oustatcher was known for his deep understanding of Torah. He was a knowledgeable individual whose insights were valued by all who had the privilege of engaging with him. Yet, despite his insight and knowledge, he remained an incredibly humble and modest individual, always deflecting attention from himself and instead focusing on the needs of others.
He quietly devoted his life to the work of Torah Umesorah, where he served for many years. His contributions to the organization were immense, though he preferred to work behind the scenes, ensuring that his acts of chesed and avodas haklal were done quietly, without drawing attention to himself.
Rabbi Oustatcher was a man of tremendous integrity, always acting in a manner that reflected the highest values. His ahavas haTorah and ahavas Yisroel were evident in everything he did.
The shivah is being held at 1902 Avenue K in Brooklyn, NY. Shacharis is at 8:00 AM, Mincha at 1:40 PM, and Maariv at 8:00 PM. Please note that visitors should refrain from coming to be Menachem Avel after 10:00 PM. The family will be getting up from shivah on Tuesday.
Yehi zichro boruch.
