It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the tragic passing of Reb Eliyahu Fink z”l of Monsey, NY. He was tragically struck and killed early this morning on the Garden State Parkway. He was 43.
The heartbreaking incident occurred just before 1 a.m. on the northbound lanes of the Garden State Parkway near milepost 146.5 in Essex County. When state troopers arrived at the scene, they found Reb Eliyahu lying on the road, gravely injured and unresponsive. Despite prompt and extensive efforts to resuscitate him, he was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene.
Early reports indicate that before the fatal collision, Reb Eliyahu had been involved in a different minor accident. After stepping out of his vehicle to assess the situation, he was struck by several oncoming vehicles.
Reb Eliyahu was a son of Rabbi and Mrs. Aaron Fink, the founder of Ateres Bais Yaakov.
He is survived by his parents, his wife and their three children.
The levayah will take place on Sunday in Monsey.
