According to a new report by N12 News released Sunday night, Israel had an opportunity to eliminate Hamas terror leader Yahya Sinwar, but decided not to take the shot out of fear of harming hostages.
N12 reported that Sinwar has surrounded himself with Israeli hostages to use as human shields. When a tip provided a unique opportunity to strike Sinwar, Israel believed the strike would harm hostages held nearby, and decided not to act.
Meanwhile, Saudi outlet Al Arabiya reported on Shabbos that Sinwar has changed locations again following the elimination of Hezbollah terror leader Hassan Nasrallah.
This N12 report comes after rumors of Sinwar’s death swriled online. Last Sunday the IDF said it can neither confirm nor deny reports of his demise, after he reportedly had not been in contact with anyone for a prolonged period of time. Israeli defense officials emphasized their was no concrete intelligence indicating Sinwar was killed.
Then on Sunday, the IDF posted a photo which showed a question mark over Sinwar’s face in the background, further fueling speculation.
