Early on Tuesday morning, sirens went off in central Israel, the Shfela region (Lowlands), and near Arad following a missile launch from Yemen. Residents reported hearing blasts in the vicinity. According to the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit, “Following the sirens that sounded a short while ago, a projectile that was launched from Yemen was intercepted prior to crossing into Israeli territory.” The IDF also mentioned that “Rocket and missile sirens were sounded following the possibility of falling shrapnel from the interception.”
Magen David Adom (MDA) reported that its medics treated over 20 individuals, including those injured while rushing to shelters and those experiencing anxiety. Among the wounded was a 60-year-old woman who sustained serious injuries while attempting to reach a shelter in Tel Aviv. MDA paramedics rushed to her side and transported her, unconscious with a head injury, to Ichilov Hospital.
Following the missile launch from Yemen, Hazam al-Assad, a member of the Houthi political bureau, stated, “We will not stop until the aggression against the residents of Gaza stops.” Earlier on Saturday morning, a missile launched from Yemen struck Jaffa, despite efforts to intercept it both in and outside the atmosphere. An IDF statement clarified that a missile from Yemen was detected, but interception attempts failed, and the missile eventually landed. Several interceptor missiles were launched to stop the Houthi ballistic missile, but all of them missed. The missile caused a crater in a playground between two buildings in Jaffa. Sixteen people were slightly injured by shattered glass and were taken to Wolfson Hospital in Holon and Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv. Additionally, 14 individuals were injured while hurrying to shelter, and seven others were affected by shock.
