Early Friday morning, around 4:30 a.m., sirens blared across Yerushalayim, Tel Aviv, Gush Dan, and the Shfela (Lowlands) region following a missile launch from Yemen. The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit confirmed that the missile was intercepted. Reports later indicated that fragments from the interception landed in the Modi’in area of central Israel. The authorities are currently investigating the incident.
In the wake of the sirens, a Magen David Adom spokesperson reported that emergency teams were deployed to assist 12 individuals who had been injured while heading to a shelter, along with nine others suffering from anxiety. Within half an hour of the missile launch, Ben Gurion Airport resumed normal operations. However, two airlines, after assessing the situation mid-air, opted not to land in Israel and rerouted their flights to Larnaca in Cyprus.
On Monday evening, sirens were activated in several central Israeli cities as a missile was fired from Yemen towards Israel. The IDF stated that the missile was successfully intercepted by the IAF before it entered Israeli airspace. Fragments from the missile’s interception were found in Beit Shemesh and Rehovot. Shortly after the sirens, operations at Ben Gurion Airport resumed, with departures and arrivals beginning again after a 25-minute halt due to the warning.
During the siren, an 18-year-old woman was struck by a car while heading to a shelter in Yavne. Magen David Adom medics provided immediate care and transferred her to Kaplan Hospital in Rehovot, where her condition was reported as light. This missile attack from Yemen followed closely after US and British air strikes in the region.
