The IDF reported on Wednesday that Staff Sergeant Stav Halfon, 20 years old and a resident of Petach Tikva, was killed during active combat in the southern region of Gaza.
Halfon served in the 603rd Combat Engineering Battalion, which is part of the IDF’s 7th Brigade. He sustained life-threatening injuries from sniper fire and later succumbed to his wounds.
As of now, the total number of IDF soldiers who have fallen since the outbreak of the war stands at 871.
On Tuesday, the IDF made public the death of Staff Sergeant Naveh Leshem, also 20 years old, from Nokdim. Leshem, a member of the Golani Brigade’s 12th Battalion, was also killed in combat operations in southern Gaza.
The day before that, the IDF lifted the publication ban regarding the death of Captain (Res.) Tal Movshovitz, 28, from Reut. He served as a Deputy Company Commander in the 7086th Combat Engineering Battalion of the Golani Brigade and was killed in battle in the southern Gaza Strip.
