A Palestinian assailant carried out a stabbing attack in central Tel Aviv on Shabbos afternoon, leaving one man critically injured. The attacker was subsequently neutralized by an armed civilian.
Authorities confirmed that the incident on Levontin Street was an act of terrorism. The injured victim, a man in his 30s, was transported to Ichilov Hospital in critical condition. Medical officials later updated that his condition had stabilized and was no longer life-threatening.
The assailant was identified as Salah Yahye, a 19-year-old from Tulkarem in the West Bank. Defense sources revealed that Yahye was in Israel without legal authorization. Emergency responders reported that he was fatally shot at the scene.
Initially, reports described the event as a “shooting incident,” likely due to the gunfire from the armed civilian who subdued the attacker.
Security camera footage captured the attack, showing the assailant targeting a group of individuals gathered on the sidewalk outside a restaurant. The video depicts the victim being stabbed before the attacker attempted to flee, only to be fatally shot shortly afterward.
