The killing of Tze’ela Tze’ela Gez near the West Bank community of Bruchin occurred merely two days after a top-ranking IDF officer issued a stark warning about ongoing terrorist threats in the area.
On Monday, Netanel Shamcha, who was wrapping up his tenure as head of the Efraim Brigade, expressed serious alarm during a security briefing regarding the growing pattern of unresolved violent incidents in and around Bruchin.
“I am leaving the sector with a terrorist we have not captured, and attacks that have not been solved in the Bruchin region. That worries me the most,” he stated during his final remarks as brigade commander.
Only 48 hours later, Tze’ela Gez was gunned down in a deadly shooting as she was en route to the hospital to deliver her baby.
