Former President Donald Trump is certain that a member of the Biden family is responsible for leaving a bag of cocaine discovered in the White House’s West Wing in July 2023 and has promised to launch an investigation.
In a conversation with The Spectator World on Thursday, Trump revealed that after his return to the Oval Office, he became convinced that “either Joe or Hunter” Biden was the one who accidentally left behind the illicit substance.
“That was such a terrible thing because, you know, those bins are very loaded up with … they’re not clean, and they have hundreds and even thousands of fingerprints,” the president said, referencing the lockers where the cocaine was discovered.
“And when they went to look at it, it was absolutely stone cold, wiped dry. You know that, right?”
Trump, 78, further stated that he intended to investigate the matter, saying, “I’m going to look into that because … bad stuff happened there.”
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) disclosed last month that his investigation into the incident had to be shut down due to interference from the U.S. Secret Service.
“I had to abandon the probe I led into the cocaine found at the Biden White House because the Secret Service destroyed the little plastic bag that contained the cocaine a few days after it was discovered,” Comer wrote in his new book, All the President’s Money: Investigating the Secret Foreign Schemes that Made the Biden Family Rich.
“And the tapes in the White House — amazingly — did not show the particular location of the discovery,” he added.
Representatives from the Secret Service stated that their investigation into the origin of the cocaine found in a cubby just one floor below the Oval Office was closed after 11 days, citing a “lack of physical evidence.”
According to the agency, FBI forensic tests failed to detect any fingerprints or usable DNA from around 500 individuals who were initially considered suspects.
Secret Service officials never clarified whether any of those individuals were actually questioned. The cocaine was eventually destroyed.
However, sources within the Secret Service later told RealClearPolitics that DNA was recovered and produced a “partial hit” in a national database after the drug was found on July 2, 2023.
The discovery of the “white, powdery substance” led to a brief evacuation and a response from a DC Fire Department hazmat team, which was the first to identify it.
At the time, President Biden and the First Lady were at Camp David for a retreat, accompanied by Hunter Biden, who had reportedly been living at the White House the month before.
The embattled first son had struggled with a crack cocaine addiction for years before getting sober in 2019, as his father was preparing to run for president.
A Post reporter pressed White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about the cocaine found in the West Wing during a briefing, five days after the discovery.
“Can you say once and for all whether or not the cocaine belonged to the Biden family?” the reporter asked.
“You know, there has been some irresponsible reporting about the family,” Jean-Pierre responded. “And, uh, and so I’ve got to call that out here.”
