President-elect Trump is set to host a rally in Washington, D.C., one day before his second-term inauguration. The event, labeled a “victory rally,” will take place at the Capital One Arena on January 19, as announced by his inauguration committee on Wednesday.
Trump is expected to give a speech at the rally, with additional speakers also anticipated, although their identities have not yet been revealed.
The swearing-in ceremony for Trump’s second term will occur on January 20 at the Capitol, and various events are planned throughout the day to celebrate the occasion.
This rally will mark Trump’s first in Washington, D.C. since his address on the Ellipse on January 6, 2021, which preceded the violent storming of the Capitol by his supporters, who were trying to prevent the certification of the 2020 election results.
Earlier this week, Trump held a meeting with D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, who described the meeting as a “great meeting to discuss our shared priorities” for his upcoming second term.
