President-elect Donald Trump is likely to name Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as the secretary of Health and Human Services, a source with knowledge of the selection confirmed to The Post.
Kennedy, 70, has been a strong advocate for Trump since he paused his independent presidential run in August.
Trump has praised Kennedy’s health expertise and stated that he would allow him to “go wild” if he won the election on Nov. 5.
Politico initially reported this choice, marking another cabinet selection by Trump.
Earlier, it was reported that Kennedy — who serves as an honorary chair on the transition team — was keen on the HHS role but was also considering allies’ suggestions to take on an advisory position instead.
Dr. Ben Carson, a neurosurgeon, was also reportedly interested in the position, according to sources.
