President Trump declared on Monday that any nation that buys oil or gas from Venezuela will face a 25% tariff on all trade with the United States, signaling one of the most severe economic measures taken against the regime so far.
Trump vented his frustration on Truth Social, stating in a long post, “Any Country that purchases Oil and/or Gas from Venezuela will be forced to pay a Tariff of 25% to the United States on any Trade they do with our Country.”
The new tariffs are scheduled to take effect on April 2, coinciding with Trump’s planned announcement of a series of reciprocal tariffs from around the world.
