According to a source close to the matter who spoke with Globes, United Airlines is set to restart its New York–Tel Aviv service on March 18. Although the airline had initially contemplated resuming flights later this month, it ultimately decided to delay the restart until mid‑March. At this time, tickets are not yet available for purchase on the carrier’s website.
United will be the first U.S. airline to reestablish flights to Israel, while Delta Airlines has announced that it will resume its Israel services on April 1, operating seven weekly flights between Tel Aviv and New York.
Prior to the conflict, United Airlines operated a total of 28 flights per week from Tel Aviv—half of which (14 flights) were bound for New York, with the remaining services connecting to various U.S. cities including Chicago, Washington, and San Francisco.
On October 7, 2023, the airline halted its operations in Israel, only to restart them in March 2024 with a reduced schedule of seven weekly flights solely to New York.
Following the Iranian attack on Israel in April, a new wave of flight cancellations swept the industry, prompting United to join in the cancellations before eventually returning to its Israel route in June.
The airline maintained its services until the end of July, when an escalation of the fighting in northern regions forced it to announce an indefinite suspension of its flights.
